3 Minutes with Erin Ong | IWD Specials
International Women’s Day is a time for celebrating the achievements of our fellow women. But it’s also a time for reflection. When was the last time we asked ourselves what success really means to us? Have we been cherishing progress just as much as perfection? Do we need to practise a little more kindness towards ourselves—and our bodies?
This year, we invite you to look inwards and challenge any biases you may have against yourself. In hopes of inspiring our community, we spoke with three amazing women whose everyday work is to #breakthebias, whether it’s in tech or at the gym.

As one of our first-ever models, Erin Ong (@erinongyoga) is a familiar face to many in the Anya Active community! Besides being a yoga, strength and mobility instructor, Erin is also the co-owner of @pushpullgive, a strength and movement gym with a social enterprise aspect.
In 2019, Erin took a leap of faith by leaving her corporate job to teach yoga full-time. Although it wasn’t an easy decision to make, Erin doesn’t regret it one bit. After all, she gets to do something that she loves every single day. While yoga might be Erin’s first love, she has started to incorporate more calisthenics into her lifestyle too—a move that may raise some eyebrows, since strength training is sometimes seen as “unfeminine”. But Erin believes that when it comes to your own body and activities that you love, biases don’t matter—you just do you!
If Erin’s approach resonates with you, you can train with her at @pushpullgive River Valley.
